CAR 147 Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course pattern & Syallbus

FIAME is offering CAR 147 Basic AME training in two Categories i.e.

Category B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine)

Category B2 (Avionics)

Category B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine) – Students enrolled under Category B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine) are trained to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License with respect to maintenance performed on aircraft structure, powerplant of Light Aeroplane (LA), Heavy Aeroplane (HA), Piston Engine (PE), Jet Engine (JE).

Category B2 (Avionics) – Students enrolled under Category B2 (Avionics) are trained to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License with respect to maintaining an aircraft’s Electrical System (ES), Instrument System (IS) and Radio Navigation System (RN).

Practical Training at FIAME

An important part of the curriculum is the gaining of practical knowledge, in addition to classroom instruction. FIAME has created twelve workshops/laboratories so as to impart the highest standards of practical training and skill development.

FIAME will ensure that it follows the DGCA prescribed syllabus and curriculum and prepares the student to appear for the examinations for obtaining a license conducted by DGCA.

FIAME will arrange for industry experts to address and interact with students on a regular basis through a series of guest sessions.

Apart from the mandated course work, FIAME will make effort to offer training program covering personality development/communication skills, general knowledge, and current affairs for students. FIAME will also impart basic computer-skills training to students as part of the curriculum. Students will also be required to undertake group-tasks and assignments, and to make presentations both as a group and individually.

Practical Training at Go First & HAL Kanpur

FIAME has entered into long term agreement with GO First Pvt Ltd., & Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Kanpur for imparting practical training to its students at their maintenance facility as required by DGCA guideline CAR 147 Basic.

CLASSES

In four semesters covering a period of two years a total of 1440 hours approximately will be devoted to classroom instruction, and a total of 960 hours approximately to practical training, out of which 288 hours of practical training shall be undertaken at Go First or HAL Kanpur maintenance facility as required by DGCA guideline CAR 147 Basic.

FIAME students will follow a six-day week schedule. Classes will typically be held in the morning hours and practical instruction in the afternoons; however, this may be varied depending on the requirement.

Attendance is compulsory and will be taken during all the classes. A minimum attendance of 90% is compulsory as per DGCA regulations, without which a student may not be permitted to appear for the examinations.

Go First

Go First, founded as GoAir, is an Indian ultra-low-cost airline based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is owned by the Indian business conglomerate Wadia Group. In October 2017, it was the fifth largest airline in India with an 8.4% passenger market share. It commenced operations in November 2005 and operates a fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft in all economy configuration.

In March 2020, the airline operated over 330 daily flights to 36 destinations, including 27 domestic and nine international destinations, from its hubs at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata,Hyderabad, Chandigarh,and Kannur

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is an Indian state-owned aerospace and defence company, headquartered in Bengaluru, India. Established on 23 December 1940, HAL is one of the oldest and largest aerospace and defence manufacturers in the world today. HAL began aircraft manufacturing as early as 1942 with licensed production of Harlow PC-5, Curtiss P-36 Hawk and Vultee A-31 Vengeance for the Indian Air Force. HAL currently has 11 dedicated Research and development (R&D) centers and 21 manufacturing divisions under 4 production units spread across India.[6] HAL is managed by a Board of Directors appointed by the President of India through the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. HAL is currently involved in designing and manufacturing of fighter jets, helicopters, jet engine and marine gas turbine engine, avionics, software development, spare supply, overhauling and upgrading of Indian military aircraft.
